Terry's Ride a Huge Success
TDF held a 40 mile bicycle ride to benefit Det. Terry McGhee at Rockland Lake State Park. 111 riders braved the wet roads and humid weather
Det. Terry McGhee of the NYPD's Joint Terrorist Task Force (NYPD/FBI). In 2008, while on assignment, in Portugal, he was injured/paralyzed and is confined to a wheel chair. Although Terry is not back to work yet, he refuses to accept retirement and is focused on returning to work and fighting terror in what ever capacity his condition allows him. On May 9, 2009 the Tour de Force held a 40 Mile bike ride that started and ended in Rockland Lake State Park, Congers, NY All proceeds will be donated to Terry, to help offset the mounting medical bills he has incured. 111 riders braved humid conditions and wet pavement, cycling through Nyack, Grandview, Piermont, Sparkhill, Tappan, West Nyack, New City, Valley Cottage & Congers before returning to and completing a lap around, Rockland Lake. Immeadiately following the ride, the TDF board members and volunteers, served all the participants with a barbeque that included hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza and salads and soft drinks. A good time was had by all. Thanks to all that attended, our goal was reached and we were able to raise and donate $5,000 to Terry.
